Not only does Captain Sandy think Malia White is a "captain in the making," but she also thinks a few other crew members have what it takes to one day be at the helm of a yacht. "Wes [Walton], for sure, he’s really great with people," Captain Sandy recently told The Daily Dish of the crew member she also previously said she would rehire from this season. "Bobby [Giancola] I didn’t really spend time with. I think he’s more emotional. You can’t be emotional and run a boat with emotional people. There’s a point where you have to say emotions out of it, let me assess the situation, and be fair. You have to be fair. I’m fair. I think Malia would be fair, Wes would be fair."
Captain Sandy even thinks one member of the interior crew could successfully lead a ship one day. "I also think Bugsy [Drake] would make a great captain, you know, bring some interior out on deck," she explained. "I think Bugsy, from what I’ve witnessed. she’s great at managing."
On the flip side, there are some crew members who have some room to grow, according to Captain Sandy. "Lauren was great in the mornings. But watching the show, Lauren needed to be true to Lauren and stop playing both sides. I don’t like that. I don’t think that’s great," Captain Sandy shared, referring to Lauren seeming to be "playing both sides" in her drama with Hannah [Ferrier], Bugsy, and Bobby. "I also think that Bobby needs to focus on his job and less about the girls and who Malia’s wanting to be with. Focus on your job, and the rest will follow. So that’s the two I would really guide. I think the rest are great."
