Carrie Underwood Explains How She Still Looks Flawless and Scar Free After 40 Stitches
The country crooner gave props to her glam squad for helping her out after her infamous fall.
Ever since she took a nasty spill that left her needing more than 40 stitches in her face, Carrie Underwood has taken fans along on her journey towards recovery. Early on, she warned her followers that her face may look slightly different after the healing process. But after inching back into the spotlight with a new single and a performance at the April 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, the singer has proved that she still looks like her dazzling self.
During her first televised interview since the incident on The Today Show, the American Idol alum said: "I have a dedicated team of professionals who can spackle and paint and paste. Every day I feel a little more back to normal.”
Underwood also spoke to Hoda Kotb about her new single, "Cry Pretty." "I feel like people relate to it because ... sometimes you just have to let it out," Underwood said. When Kotb shares what she does when she needs a good cry — heads to the bathroom — the singer shared that lots of people have been telling her about their own "cry pretty" rituals.
"I love this because I have had conversations with people and I feel like people are telling me places that they cry," the activewear designer said. "I've heard closet, I've heard shower, I've heard bathroom." When the country star needs to cry herself, though, she gets behind the wheel.
"[In the car] I know people can still see you and they've probably seen me at like a stoplight like, 'What's that crazy lady doing over there'?" she joked.
