Have Carson Kressley and Thom Filicia Ever Hooked Up? They Reveal the Truth About Their Past
The Get a Room BFFs and designers open up about their longtime friendship.
Are you ready to Get a Room with Carson & Thom? That's right: Carson Kressley and Thom Filicia return to Bravo this Friday in their new interior design series, with a title just cheeky enough to mirror the energy they bring to a room at any and all times. "We love a good double entendre," Carson told The Daily Dish this week ahead of the series premiere. "Triple entendres even better."
That being said, you can bet that the former Queer Eye for the Straight Guy buds are reunited — and they know it feels so good. "We're very excited," Thom said, before breaking down what fans will see when the stylish twosome combine their superpowers to help folks put the right stamp on their spaces.
"It's about interior design. It's about interior decorating. It's about wall coverings and paint, light fixtures and sconces and rugs," he teased. But it's also about this aspect of Carson's skill set (or lack thereof). "It's about you driving like a crazy person. He drives like a crazy person. He almost killed us many times," Thom shared of his pal's skills behind the wheel. "I can't believe we're here. I'm waiting for the airbag."
And despite years as friends, Carson definitely learned something about his pal thanks to this new series. "I had no idea how hard Thom worked [on Queer Eye]," he said, teasing that he used to be all about pocket squares and Cipriani reservations back in the day while Thom was toiling on spaces. "We have to do that now on our show and I realize how much more involved interior design is."
Considering their chemistry and bangin' eyes for style, some folks may wonder if anything romantic has ever happened between the longtime besties. "No, we're too busy," Thom noted. "We're kind of like sisters. We're kind of like masculine sisters. We're masculine for sisters; we're not so masculine for men," he joked.
Carson mirrored that sentiment. "We've been friends [since] before Queer Eye. We actually met at the gym, which is unbelievable because these bodies were built on rigatoni. And then we did Queer Eye, so we we're great friends ... and we're more like brothers and we kind of grew up together in New York City ... no, we have never been romantically involved. We're pretty good finding dates for one another."
Both guys are currently single and helping each other find the right fellas for one another. "We're actually wingmen for each other," Thom said. "We kind of help [each other meet people]. It's very funny, you know; it's easier to talk to someone you're not flirting with so I'm really good. I can help him out when he's being a little shy."
We have a hard time believing either of these guys are ever shy, but it's clear they have nothing but love for each other. "You can see that we don't really like each other," Carson joked.
Check out how much they adore each other when Get a Room with Carson & Thom premieres Friday, October 19 at 9/8c. Preview the stylish antics below.
