Of Course, David Foster Could Convince Céline Dion to Do This
The former RHOBH husband is apparently one charming guy.
Céline Dion's 1996 cover of the 1975 hit "All By Myself" became an international hit and an enduring showcase for her impressive vocal range. But as confident a singer as she later became, she wasn't so sure at first that she could hit this song's famous high note while recording in the studio — that is, until her producer, David Foster (who is the ex-husband of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Yolanda Hadid), stepped in to help in his own inimitable way.
When Céline arrived at David's studio to finish the song, he surprised her with a challenge because the high note turned out to be even higher than they had originally planned.
"I said, 'David, how could you do that?'" she recalled on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (see above video). "He said, 'Well, if you can't do it, there are other singers next door who can!'"
"Oooohhhh!" Andy exclaimed, snapping his fingers.
"And that's all I needed to hit the note," she added, looking matter-of-factly into the camera.
Looks like David's technique worked like a charm. Watch the video above to see the incredible sight of Ms. Dion answering caller questions while overseen by a guest bartending panel of drag queens dressed up in her various musical eras — only in the Bravo Clubhouse!
