Chris Crary to Work 'Chef' Social Media
Last season's fan favorite signs on to be our first-ever social media correspondent.
Top Chef is back, baby! And tonight when you tune in to watch the premiere of season 10 (and all throughout the season), head on over to Twitter where Chris Crary, the season 9 Fan Favorite will be Bravo's first-ever social media correspondent for Top Chef. Each week during and after the episodes, Chris will be interacting with fans, picking out his favorite moments/quotes and working the digital room, so to speak, to keep the TC conversation going.
Chris told The Dish that his main goal with this little endeavor is "to have fun, introduce mroe people to Top Chef that haven't experienced it yet and have fun with the people who have been experiencing it." He goes on to proclaim a love for social media -- part of what made him fan favorite last season -- declaring it "a great way to reach fans and people can react to what's happening on the TV with someone who's been there. And it's free!"
So who's a chef he loves following himself? "Let's see... Anthony Bourdain of course," he told The Dish. "He's so funny in a chef-y way." And when asked about a guilty pleasure follow of his, Chris was not too bashful to cough this one up. "Of course -- Bar Rafaeli. It's because she posts a lot of pictures."
So what's a key to this season's contestants working it on social media? "You have to have a little fun with it, but it's also like a job. You have to reply to as many people as you can and keep engaging the people that are trying to talk to you. Someone sees that I tweeted them back, and then they tweet you -- people will have more of an attachment for you if you're willing to exchange a conversation with them," Chris says.
Follow @BravoTV and @chriscrary and tune in for the (fantastic) premiere episode of Top Chef tonight at 10/9c!
