Christian Siriano's Fall/Winter 2024 NYFW Show Channeled "Futuristic" Glamour (PICS)

The Project Runway mentor's latest collection balances "power and strength with soft, romantic elegance."

By Cynthia Robinson

On February 8, Christian Siriano brought all the glamour, dazzle, and showmanship for his 2024 Fall/Winter collection with a series of looks that were inspired by "the modern, futuristic world" imagined in the 1965 novel Dune (and its subsequent film adaptations).

How to Watch

"The collection embodies the idea of what eveningwear and glamour would look like in a sci-fi, apocalyptic desert, which informs a rich color palette and luminous textures like luxurious creams, liquid metallics, burnt orange lamés with intricate glass beading, deep reds, and black shimmering tinsel reminiscent of a vast starry sky," the Project Runway mentor shared in a press release about the show, which was held at the iconic Plaza Hotel in New York City.

He added: "In keeping with the essence of our Siriano custom, the Fall/Winter collection balances power and strength with soft, romantic elegance."

For the occasion, Christian's audience was also giving glamour, with some of the designer's good pals like Alicia Silverstone, Melanie Lynskey, J. Smith-Cameron, Busy Phillips, Ashlee Simpson, Sophia Bush, and more. Christian, of course, has designed gorgeous looks for many of the attendees, including Smith-Cameron's off-the-shoulder teal 2024 Emmys gown and Lynskey's light green tulle 2022 Emmys dress

"WE DID IT 59 looks with some stunning representation of beauty on the runway and in the front row last night!" Christian captioned an Instagram post that documented the evening and the beautiful looks in his collection. "Thank you EVERYONE for all of the hard work. What a fabulous show that we are so [proud] of."

Speaking exclusively with BravoTV.com backstage, Christian noted the show was "a little bit apocalyptic, but in the most evening, glamorous way you can think of," and we saw those touches throughout, with bold colors, textures, styles, and silhouettes that evoked a sort of dramatic ambiance mixed with soft luxury.

The designer's burnt orange and bright red pieces evoked all those Dune-like, futuristic desert qualities, bringing classic sophistication with elegant draping as well as unique flourishes and silhouettes.

We were also in awe at the bold use of color, with brown, burnt yellow, gold, and silver styles.

In addition to taking in the beautiful styles (the complete layout you can see here), we were in love with some of the stunning hair and makeup details, including the shimmery gold foil piees that dotted hairlines and elegant buns.

Makeup flourishes were also kept pretty low-key throughout, with a more natural, bare-faced look with a few metallic or glimmering touches.
