After calling Italy's lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus "ridiculous," Joe Giudice clarified his stance to the measure in a post on Instagram on Tuesday, March 10.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/7c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

In a video in his initial post, Joe, who has been living in Sala Consilina, a town in the Salerno province of southwestern Italy since he was released from ICE custody in October, could be seen out of his house and walking around his community as he made his way to work.

"I can't believe that there's literally nobody out in the streets. Look at this: ghost town. Literally nobody out because of this stupid coronavirus," Joe said in the clip showing empty streets. "People are so scared. Unbelievable. Grow a set of cojones. Jesus. Ridiculous. All right, I guess I'm gonna be the only one walking around working today."

A few hours after that post, Joe followed that up by stating that he is adhering to the policy announced by Italy's prime minister Giuseppe Conte on Monday, March 9, asking the more than 60 million citizens of the country to avoid traveling outside of areas where they live unless they can prove it is for a medical or work emergency, NBC News reports. Businesses are also required to close by dusk.

"I am not moving around the country. I am obeying the law going to work, shopping for family, and NO cafes, gym, and places like that," Joe wrote in the post that also featured a clip of him saying while he was apparently working on a job site, "Don't be afraid."

The RHONJ husband also asked his followers to pray for Italy and humanity in the hashtags to his post.

Italy is the site of Europe's worst coronavirus outbreak with at least 827 deaths and more than 12,000 confirmed positive cases as of Wednesday, March 11, according to The Guardian.
