Several weeks after confirming her exit from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Cynthia Bailey is opening up about why now felt like the right time to step away from the show.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Peacock and the Bravo App.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Cynthia said that she wants to give more of her attention to her marriage to Mike Hill. She also shared that she'll be spending more and more time in Los Angeles where Mike lives. Her daughter, Noelle Robinson, is also based on the West Coast.

“I just want to be able to focus, have a little more time to focus on my marriage,” Cynthia said in the interview. “Now that I just celebrated my one-year anniversary, getting married is part one, staying married is part two. You actually have to be with your husband sometimes!”

Cynthia recently posted a photo from her anniversary celebration with Mike, and in a separate Instagram, wrote, "1 year [and] a life time to go! I love you Mike!"

She also noted in her interview with Us Weekly why Season 13 felt like a good time to exit, and the timing of her wedding had something to do with it. “I got married on the show my first season [to Peter Thomas], I got married on the show my last season. It kind of was a perfect way to tie it up in a bow and just go,” she said.

However, Cynthia added in the interview, "Now I'm like, oh, you know, I have my next chapter. Everyone's so excited and happy for this next chapter. I'm like, 'What is this next chapter going to be [laughs]?'"

Last month, Porsha Williams also shared that she was leaving RHOA. Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Kandi BurrussKenya Moore, and Drew Sidora will be back for Season 14.
