Dakota Johnson Explains That She Wasn't Side-Eyeing Angelina Jolie During Jennifer Aniston's Golden Globes Speech
The actress had to admit who she was really looking at during the broadcast and it's adorable.
Social media users love to tell fanciful stories based on awkward award show screenshots, dissecting body language that may or may not have actually existed in real time. This happened after the 2018 Golden Globes, when people tried to resurrect Team Aniston and Team Jolie divisions because Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie were in the same room. Someone diagrammed a freeze frame of Jolie appearing to ignore Aniston, who was presenting an award, and Dakota Johnson, who looked like she was side-eyeing her tablemate Angelina for a reaction.

The Fifty Shades Freed star burst the bubble Monday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when she admitted that she was trying to get a look at the cast of Stranger Things, who were seated at the next table over. She even surreptitiously took some pictures of them.
“I was, like, trying to take a video of these kids — but they’re children, I know!"
She took an accidental image that she's analyzing as much as the shot with her in it.
"I was, like, zooming in and zooming in, but then I also accidentally caught … Ridley Scott was asleep. I think maybe he was just looking at his phone, but it looked like he was asleep.”
