D'Andra Simmons Opens up About Her History With Addiction

One of the most surprising revelations to come out of The Real Housewives of Dallas Season 3 reunion was when D'Andra Simmons shared her past struggles with substance abuse. "I'm very upfront with the fact that I had a drug problem in my 20s," she said. "Luckily, at 29 I went to rehab and I never did it again."

The subject came up during a discussion about D'Andra's drinking, which came up earlier this season of RHOD. D'Andra went on to share that she went to rehab in Tijuana, Mexico for three months to seek help with her cocaine problem. She also attended meetings of Narcotics Anonymous "for several years." "I was living in L.A. at the time, and there was a lot of parties and a lot of things, I got caught up in the wrong crowd," she explained. "And I'm happy to talk about it, but one of the greatest stories in my life is that I overcame that."

D'Andra later shared on Twitter that she takes pride in being an open book on RHOD. "I have no problem putting out my past issues, including my drug problem," she tweeted. "Some of these other girls should try it."

She also showed her appreciation for all of the love and support she has been receiving from RHOD fans since she opened up about her past struggles. "I was nervous to talk about my addiction at first, now that it is out there I feel much better," she tweeted.
