Dorit and Paul "PK" Kemsley Share an Update on Their Marriage
Following the RHOBH Season 13 premiere on October 25, the longtime couple — who shares son Jagger and daughter Phoenix together — released a statement to PEOPLE about the current state of their marriage.
"We remain committed to working through these issues as a united couple for our family. We have not separated nor are we planning to do so," the spouses told the outlet. "Rather, we are focused on healing, making changes and doing the things that many couples have to do at some point in their marriage."
The twosome added that they have had some "challenging years," which they "openly discuss" on Season 13. PK and Dorit then noted that they are focusing on their family.
"We would be grateful for everyone’s understanding. We are doing what we can to focus on the best interests of our family, as opposed to spending our time contending with rumors and hearsay that are not true," they concluded in their statement. "Love, Dorit and PK."
Dorit and Paul "PK" Kemsley's Marriage Issues
As Dorit told bestie Kyle Richards on the RHOBH Season 13 premiere, she's been feeling less "connected" to her husband of eight years.
"My husband, the one that you depend on the most, was spending a lot of time in London," she said about how she's been doing since she was diagnosed with PTSD following two robberies. "I started to feel like PK and I weren't connected."
The lack of connection was so severe that Dorit wondered if her marriage would survive. "For the first time ever I thought, 'Is it possible that PK and I would not make it?'" she admitted to Kyle.
Kyle, for her part, said that couples often go through ebbs and flows in their relationships when they've been together for a long time. Dorit ultimately agreed with Kyle's sentiment.
"It's normal. A lot of marriages go through it. It'd be one thing if he cheated on me or he lied to me or he did something and I can say there was an incident, [but] there wasn't," Dorit responded. "It was like a period of time that I just needed him and he wasn't there."
The mom of two acknowledged that she "needed more" from PK at the time, but what will happen next? Tune in to new episodes of RHOBH on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Bravo to find out. Stream episodes the next day on Peacock.
