Did Jax Taylor End Up Taking That Job in Florida?
The Vanderpump Rules bartender has a message for fans after his "rough" year.
Jax Taylor may be in the market for a new job. Lisa Vanderpump let the bartender go in Monday night's Season 6 finale of Vanderpump Rules.
But leaving SUR is exactly what Jax needed, even if there are some things he'll miss about the restaurant, he shared during the Vanderpump Rules After Show (clip above). "We are family at the end of the day. We've all been friends for 10, 15 years. So yeah, it's gonna suck not going to work every day and not seeing my friends because it wasn't like work. I enjoyed going. I liked going," he said. "But at the same time, it's less stress because now I don't have to deal with any of this, the murmurs, the noises, and I don't have to hear about it. And I can start fresh, which I need to do."
Perhaps getting the boot could have actually been a blessing in disguise for Jax since he was offered that job in Tampa, Florida to do social media and communications for a hockey team. Though some members of the Vanderpump Rules crew were skeptical of the legitimacy of the job offer, Jax said that it "was 100 percent real" when he appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Monday night (clip below).
So did Jax end up taking the gig? No, it looks like he'll be staying in Los Angeles for the foreseeable future. "The only thing that stopped me from doing it was the timing," he explained on WWHL. "I just lost my father, and the reason I was going to Florida, the main reason, obviously I love the hockey, and I got the opportunity, but the main reason was to be closer to my father, and once he passed away, I just didn't want anything to do with Florida."
Jax's father, Ronald Cauchi, who lived in Florida with his wife and Jax's mom Marie Cauchi, passed away at the end of December last year after a battle with cancer.
As Jax figures out what the future holds for him, he reflected on the difficult year and season he's had, which included many relationship woes with girlfriend Brittany Cartwright, on Twitter Monday. "Thanks again to all that watch, I know it’s been a rough one, and I lost a lot of you but we all have our ups and downs in life and it’s unfortunate you don’t see it all," he shared. "I am blessed enough to have the most amazing lady in my life along with great friends."
We'll catch up with Jax more when this season's Vanderpump Rules reunion kicks off Monday, May 7 at 9/8c. Until then, check out a preview, below.
