Austen Kroll on His Party Life Now That He's on TV

There's no denying that the pals of Southern Charm like to have a good time and paint the town red. And now that Austen Kroll is a household name, he admits that partying definitely comes with new and unexpected experiences. Especially when he comes face-to-face with fans -- and non-fans -- of the show.

How to Watch

Watch Southern Charm on Peacock and the Bravo App.

"Sometimes I’m like, 'Alright, let’s just, embrace the craziness.' And sometimes I’m like 'Alright, I’m going to my local jaunt and where no one cares who the hell that I am.' So it’s a healthy mix," he recently told The Daily Dish. "Sometimes I’m like, 'Alright let’s go for it.' And other times I’m like, 'Nah, no way.'"

Now back to those public encounters with the television viewing audience and the varied responses he gets from people when he's out and about in the world.

"I like have to bring this up because it kinda goes along with this. I mean, here’s what happens. So first off, people in Charleston love to tell you they don’t watch the show. It’s like their favorite thing. They’re like, 'Ah, just to be honest, I’ve never seen it.' And I’m like, 'OK, that’s fine, I never asked if you did.' But then what happens too is that there’ll be two friends and one is like, 'Oh my God Austen, oh my God, take a picture with me,' and the other is like, 'Who the hell are you? I mean like why does she want like a picture with you?' And I’m like, 'I didn’t ask for this picture, you don’t have to be mean to me for no reason,'" he said, before recalling a specific incident.

He said, "And it happened last night, I mean this girl was so mean to me. And her friend was like over the moon. She was like, 'Why does she want a picture with you? Who the hell are you?' I just ignored her. I mean I didn’t say a word to her. And I was as nice as could be to this girl who wanted a picture with me and she was just giving me these looks, and I was like you’re a horrible person. I didn’t ask for this. I didn’t come in here expecting this."
