Does Carole Radziwill Miss Aviva Drescher?
The 'RHONY' star dishes on the departure of her former frenemy.
With Real Housewives of New York City making its triumphant return tonight, there's one cast member who won't be coming along for the ride: Aviva Drescher.
There's no doubt that the Housewife brought the drama last season. Between #BookGate and the infamous leg-throw, it's safe to say not returning to the show may be for the best. So it should be no surprise that former cast mate and frenemy Carole Radziwill agrees.
"I think the audience is relieved," she shares with E! News. "I think it's probably best for her not to be on television. She doesn't do herself any favors. I'm sure in her real life, off camera, she's doing well."
Describing last season as "toxic," Carole shares that after everything she went through, she almost considered not returning herself. "I felt like last year, last season was really unpleasant and honestly, I thought about it. Like 'I can't do this again. These women are just not like me and we don't have anything in common. I can't go through this again,'" she admits. "I went through all of that in my head, but I didn't want that feeling to be the final feeling…I didn't want to end on this very dark note, so that was one piece of it."
Now that she's back though, she knows she made the right decision. "I'm glad I did, I had a really good time this season," she says. "It was fun, even though there was drama and silliness and tears."
Tears that even she herself shed. "There are a lot of women, first of all, and there's a lot of emotion. A lot of crying—even I cried!" she laughs. "Emotions ran really deep and it was real. But then there were really fun times, too."
