Does Melania Trump Actually Like Cecily Strong's Impression of Her on Saturday Night Live?
The comedian set the record straight on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Saturday Night Live doesn't hold back on its impressions of Donald Trump — or of his wife Melania Trump. Nearly each week, Alec Baldwin tries his hand at impersonating the commander in chief and Cecily Strong busts out her best Melania impression. And lately, a rumor has been circulating that FLOTUS actually likes Strong's portrayal of her.
On a recent episode of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Strong recalled being at a dinner where Donald and Melania Trump were also guests. "[Melania] pointed at me when she walked in, and then I think [Donald Trump] said, ‘She likes your impression,’" Strong said. She added: “I’ve heard it through the grapevine that she watches the show and likes it.”
When Strong stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on February 7, Andy asked the SNL star whether she had indeed heard that the First Lady is a fan of her impression. As it turns out, that's not quite the story.
Watch the clip above to hear Strong weigh in on exactly what she's heard from the White House rumor mill. And in the meantime, we can say for sure that Erika Girardi loves being impersonated by Strong!
