Dolores and Paulie Defend Their Relationship Amid Margaret Josephs’ Claims About His Previous Marriage
The couple is responding after Margaret said that Dolores' boyfriend, Paul "Paulie" Connell, might not be divorced from his previous wife.
Margaret Josephs made quite the accusation about Dolores Catania and Paul "Paulie" Connell's relationship on Episode 14 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey After Show, which coincided with the same Season 13 episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, on May 9.
More specifically, while the group was individually discussing whether or not they think Dolores and Paulie will get married, Margaret said, "As far as I know, Paulie’s not divorced."
"I mean, I guess it’s hard to get married if you’re not divorced," she added, before referencing the comment Paulie made about already having an engagement ring picked out. "You can give rings, I guess."
Margaret didn't elaborate on her claim, but Paulie seemingly responded a few days later by sharing a photo of him and Dolores to Instagram, captioned, "Sticks [and] Stones….. We all know the rest of the story. [W]hen it’s the one[,] nothing else matters."
Dolores chimed in as well, commenting, "[You] tell them," with a red heart emoji and the hashtag "facts."
What's more, Dolores responded on Twitter after a Bravo fan account shared Margaret's comments about Paulie's previous marriage where she also commented on the claim.
As far as her thoughts on marrying Paulie, Dolores said on the RHONJ After Show that she's not necessarily in a rush. "Think about this: I'm divorced for 24 years," she said, referencing her split from Frank Catania. "Could I have gotten married? Of course, I could have, but it's not something I've thought about in so long, the way I think about it now," she explained, also taking the time to acknowledge Paulie's gesture. "It was nice, but it's not like I'm rushing for it ... I'm very happy with the commitment I have right now, to be honest."
Dolores continued, "But is it nice to dream in the moment and talk about, 'Oh if we had a wedding, what would it be like?' That doesn't mean we have to go do it tomorrow, but of course, [it's] human nature. You think about the next steps. But then you really want to really think about it. Like, I have time."
