Dorinda Medley Tells Andy Cohen About Drinking Comments: “I’m Very Sensitive About That”
THe RHONY cast member opened up about remarks surrounding alcohol use during Part 1 of the Season 12 reunion.
On The Real Housewives of New York City, remarks about the group’s behavior while drinking have consistently been a heated discussion throughout the season. The cast members continued the conversation during Part 1 of the Season 12 reunion, which you can check out in the clip, above.
While reading viewer-submitted questions, Andy Cohen directed an inquiry about alcohol use to Dorinda Medley. A RHONY fan asked why, when confronted about the topic of drinking, Dorinda becomes “so defensive about the subject?”
In response, Dorinda said, “No, that’s wrong,” suggesting that the issues surrounding the comments “had nothing to do” with genuine concern over alcohol use, and were instead used as “a zinger” against her.
“It seems like you get very defensive when anyone brings up your drinking,” Andy said.
“Yeah, I’m very sensitive about that,” Dorinda admitted.
“Why are you so sensitive about it?” Andy asked.
“Because I find it to be accusatory, maybe?” Dorinda offered.
As Andy was attempting to get to the root of the subject, the conversation continued to move in a number of directions as the women chimed in with comments related to the issue.
“Dorinda doesn’t like to be told that she’s had too much to drink,” Luann weighed in, continuing with an explanation as to why she has been concerned about Dorinda’s behavior lately. “I get that. I just look out for my friends, because god knows I’ve had my issues.”
