Dorinda Medley’s Toughest #RHONY Moment

We've followed the highs and lows of Dorinda Medley's life over the course of five seasons of The Real Housewives of New York City so far, but there's one moment in particular that stands out to her as the toughest to relive.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New York City on Bravo Tuesdays at 9/8c and stream next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

Dorinda reflected on her time on RHONY during Wednesday night's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and named her emotional discussion with Bethenny Frankel as they traveled to Puerto Rico to provide disaster relief in Season 10 as the most difficult moment to watch back. "But we worked through it," Dorinda noted in the above clip from WWHL. "But by the way, as I always say about the Housewives, it's therapy, and you learn tremendously from it and you grow. Otherwise, you'll be too upset all the time."

In the RHONY Season 11 premiere, Dorinda shared that the events of last season ended up being an enlightening experience for her, especially when it came to her health and drinking. "I just realized nothing good happens when you have a couple drinks, and I don't handle alcohol well," she told her friend and makeup artist/hair stylist Luke Henderson.

Dorinda told The Daily Dish prior to her appearance on WWHL that she made the decision to make a lifestyle change after last season of RHONY when she heard Dr. Phil McGraw say "something very interesting" on his TV show. "He said that, 'You can't always get rid of things fully; you have to replace them with positive things.' I just decided to look at my life and take out things that were making me feel negative, feel upset, and just replace them with positive," she shared. "I quieted down. I incorporated a lot of exercise. Exercise really is amazing. People say that, but it really, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. Once you start exercising, you want to eat better, you sleep better, you want to surround yourself by healthy and good things, and you just feel so great about everything you're doing. So I think mainly it was just positive thinking and exercising and really kind of removing myself for a couple of months and just going to the Berkshires and going back to my roots."

Dorinda said her drama with Luann de Lesseps during the RHONY trip to Cartagena, Colombia last season was also the catalyst for her to make a "change of environment." "I think it's always important to make changes and tweak yourself because we go through highs and we go through lows, and I just felt that last season it was all getting too much. I was clearly upset about the whole thing that was going on with Luann. I couldn't figure it out or get my head around it. So I just decided to remove myself from any and all chaos and put myself in a positive environment where I'm loved and I'm nurtured."

We're so happy to see Dorinda so happy this season of RHONY. And the upcoming episode on Wednesday at 9/8c seems like it's going to be a downright blast. Check out a preview, below.
