Dorinda Medley Reveals Scary Island Reaction: "I Thought I Was Dealing with a Bunny"
Dorinda Medley admitted to finally watching the RHONY Season 5 Scary Island episodes for the first time on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.
"Scary Island" continues to be the “elephant in the room” as Kelly Killoren Bensimon and some of the other ladies of The Real Housewives of New York City vacation in St. Barts for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy.
Dorinda Medley said before the girls trip she’d never actually watched the iconic Season 5 vacation, which happened before Dorinda joined the RHONY cast for Seasons 7 through 12. But all that changed when she decided to watch it while in St. Barts.
The infamous Season 5 vacation was named Scary Island by Kelly herself and included both a tense boat ride and dinner — the same ingredients fans saw again during Episode 4 of RHONY Legacy, making it only appropriate that Scary Island was finally addressed by both Dorinda and Kelly.
How did Dorinda and Kelly react to Scary Island?
After watching the Scary Island vacation episodes of RHONY on a tablet while putting on her makeup in St. Barts, Dorinda admitted she saw the trip to the other ‘Wives while on Sonja Morgan’s yacht day.
“I watched Scary Island,” Dorinda said. “Remember when [Kelly] was talking in the midst of everybody at dinner? And she wouldn’t stop? And [Ramona Singer and Sonja] said, ‘Listen, go to your room?’”
Kelly, unhappy with where the conversation was going, added, “’Remember when [Dorinda] wasn’t there?’” She also mocked Dorinda watching the episodes, saying, “’I’m [Dorinda] going to tell you everything because I watched it.’”
The conversation started because of a comment Dorinda made to Kelly the night before, which Dorinda thought had been put to rest, but Kelly wanted to talk about on the yacht.
“Now I get it,” Dorinda said in her confessional. “I know what I’m dealing with. I thought I was dealing with a bunny rabbit, but it could be a different animal.”
Kelly was unimpressed with Dorinda bringing up the 2009 girls trip, particularly because she was not there to be part of it.
“What are you, like, fanning again?” Kelly asked in her confessional. “Do you want an autograph? What are we doing here? Like, stop.”

Kelly continued to argue with Dorinda, as well as Kristen Taekman, off the yacht and into Kristen’s neon dinner party. At one point, Luann de Lesseps and Kristen left the table to talk in the confessional room of the villa.
“That was intense,” Luann said of the conversation at dinner. “I mean, compared to Scary Island, this is nothing.”
Despite being supportive of Kelly on the yacht, Luann faced her own set of frustrations with Kelly at the dinner.
“Can we talk about when she interrupted my story to give her speech?” Luann said to Kristen. “I mean, let’s talk about not reading the room. It was just, like, surreal. It was a surreal evening. Neon madness.”
