Dr. Contessa Metcalfe Welcomes a New Addition to Her Family
The Married to Medicine family has already received a very special gift this holiday season.
Thanksgiving is all about family, and Dr. Contessa Metcalfe just welcomed a new addition to hers over the holiday weekend.
Dr. Contessa confirmed in a video on Instagram on November 25 that she had a much smaller Thanksgiving dinner this year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, celebrating with just her immediate family, including husband, Dr. Scott Metcalfe, and their three children, daughters Lauren and Laila and son Landon, as well as Dr. Contessa's father.
However, the holiday weekend was no less special for the Metcalfe family this year. Dr. Contessa's dad gifted her daughter Laila a pet tortoise for her birthday.
The Married to Medicine doctor shared a video of Laila lovingly holding her new friend on November 27 and included "#grandpasarethebest" in the caption to the Instagram post, which also asked followers for suggestions on what to name the tortoise.
That wasn't the only bit of holiday cheer the Married to Medicine family took part in over Thanksgiving weekend. They also took some time out to snap a new holiday family photo, which shows Dr. Contessa, Dr. Scott, Lauren, Landon, Laila, and Dr. Contessa's father all smiles as they rock some festive pajamas.
The holiday season never looked more adorable.
While everyone has different family structures and traditions, spending time with the people we love can make the holidays special. The holidays will look different this year, but we at NBCUniversal believe that Family is Universal. Which is why we’re partnering with Walmart, Verizon, and Progressive in support of Feeding America® and No Kid Hungry, to support families across the country when it matters most.
