Inside Dr. Nicole Martin and Fiancé Anthony Lopez's Wedding Plans — What We Know So Far

The RHOM anesthesiologist is hoping to have a destination wedding.

Though Nicole Martin said on Real Housewives of Miami that she had no plans to marry boyfriend Anthony Lopez, she couldn't help but say yes when the lawyer popped the question on New Years' Eve two years ago.

"We've talked about marriage before. I think we both knew it would happen one day. I just didn't know that day was coming so soon. It was a total surprise!" Nicole told PEOPLE. "It was simple and private, and nothing short of perfect."

Still, Nicole's wedding is likely not happening any time in the immediate future as the anesthesiologist recently announced that she is expecting her second child with the insurance attorney. Plus, "we're about to start this huge remodeling project, Greyson's getting older and he's a handful, and I have work and everything else going on. [So] wedding planning is not at the top of my list of things to do," she shared in the Season 6 premiere of Real Housewives of Miami

But that doesn't mean the couple isn't celebrating their love in other ways. Following their engagement, the pair hosted an extravagant party at a beautiful space in Miami.

Lawyer Anthony Lopez popped the question to Nicole on New Year's Eve 2021 in Aspen.

"It was simple and private, and nothing short of perfect. It was early morning on New Year's Eve and we just woke up. We were cuddling in bed, watching the sun start to rise and glisten on the snow," Nicole shared with PEOPLE

After Anthony shared "some really beautiful sentiments about our lives and relationship," he presented Nicole with a beautiful 10-carat stone.

"I'm obsessed," Nicole said.

Shortly after the couple announced the happy news, they held a glamorous party at The Historic Alfred I. duPont Building in Miami. The event theme was Las Vegas, the same city where the anesthesiologist and trial lawyer first met in 2015.

Decorated in gold and white accents, the party was over the top in all the right ways, with aerial dancers and a live band providing entertainment. To commemorate the special occasion, guests posed inside an old-fashioned bank vault where a photo booth had been set up.

And while the decorations and subtle finishes were certainly eye-catching, all the attention was on the bride-to-be, who wore two outfits for the occasion. Starting off the night in a strapless mini with fringe trim, Nicole later changed into a chic white strapless dress with detached sleeves. Both looks were accessorized with a gorgeous statement necklace and silver heels.

“Blessed to have celebrated the weekend with the people that matter the most. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to everyone who helped make the night so special,” she wrote on Instagram in May 2022. “[Anthony Lopez] love you to the moon baby.”

Though wedding plans are not at the top of Nicole's to-do list, she and Anthony have put some thought into what the occasion might look like. So far, it seems the pair are leaning toward a destination wedding.

"I think we’re shying away from doing it in Miami just because it’s going to be too big of a production. We are thinking destination-wedding vibe. Location is still to be determined," she told New York Magazine's Vulture in March 2023.

Nicole explained that they're inclined to go this route because the people who would show up would be the ones who "really care and really want to participate and be there for us versus kind of like those social obligations that you have to invite."

"If they don’t care, they’re not going to make the effort. It automatically scales itself down," she reasoned.

Looks like we'll have to wait and see who makes the cut!
