We Have a Major Update on Dr. Wendy and Eddie Osefo's Relationship with His Family
The RHOP couple has previously opened up about Eddie Osefo's estrangement from his family.
As parents to three beautiful children, Dr. Wendy Osefo and husband Eddie's family couldn't be more picture perfect. However, we learned during Wendy's first season of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Season 5, that even the Osefos have faced their fair share of challenges when it comes to their loved ones.
Wendy and Eddie previously opened up to the group about the immediate tension that transpired between their families after they first met and later wanted to get married. "The current status of where my family is with Eddie's family, it all started with just women bickering. It just so happens that those two women who are bickering, their children wanted to marry each other," Wendy further explained in an interview in RHOP Season 5. "Eddie's parents, not only did they not support it, they were then telling their friends, 'If you attend his wedding, we will no longer be friends.'"
Eddie also shared that he hadn't spoken to his mother since his and Wendy's wedding, and his parents didn't really have a relationship with his kids. "They haven't met our daughter, Kamrynn," he shared. "Our sons, they don't really know them. They don't even know grandma exists."
The rest of the RHOP couples, some of whom have overcome their own issues with parents and in-laws, encouraged Wendy and Eddie to try to come to some sort of resolution. Eddie tried to do just that later on in the season when he extended an invitation to his parents to daughter Kamrynn's sip and see. Unfortunately, Eddie's family ultimately did not show up to the event.
However, the RHOP family has made some major progress since then. Wendy shared a huge update on where Eddie stands with his family these days during her appearance on the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen After Show on August 15. "They have reached out to Eddie recently, and they've had some conversations," Wendy said. "And I just look forward to where that's going."
Eddie, who served as the guest bartender during Sunday night's WWHL, then clarified that the communication is "not so much with my parents." "My siblings actually reached out a little bit just to talk about, you know, how are things going," he said.
The RHOP husband appeared to be optimistic about the future when it comes to his family, sharing, "We're trying to bridge the gap."
