The RHOA Ladies and Andy Cohen Have a Lot of Feelings About Drew Sidora's Buzzy Christmas Gift
The Real Housewives of Atlanta also shared an update on where the wig is today.
From diamond jewelry to designer accessories, the ladies of The Real Housewives of Atlanta went all out when it came time to shop for a gift exchange at Cynthia Bailey’s “friendmas” party. But when Kenya Moore unwrapped the “trio” of gifts Drew Sidora brought, the group was left unimpressed with the present.
Drew’s gift included the “pet wig” Kenya and LaToya Ali had teased her for earlier in the season, a $100 donation to the Humane Society, and a cassette tape with a recorded conversation about LaToya’s alleged connection to Prophet Lott, who was set to preform a baby blessing for Drew’s daughter. “It’s a gag gift,” Drew explained in an interview during the episode. “Let’s laugh about it, and you got bundles. I spent my $1000, so I followed the rules.”
“It was just so much talk about my wig,” Drew continued during The Real Housewives of Atlanta After Show, which you can check out in the above clip. “I made sure I had a good $1000 worth of bundles. People weren’t too happy with my gift. But it was like, hey! You know, Drewisha is here. You have an opportunity to wear her on your head. You’re welcome.”
Although it was a joke, it seemed to have rubbed the rest of the ladies the wrong way. “If I would have been the one that so happened to get stuck with that gift, I would have been pissed. I did not go and buy a nice gift to get a damn wig that I would never even think about wearing,” said Kandi Burruss.
Cynthia also weighed in, explaining, “I’m all for the shade. When Drew did that autographed picture with LaToya, perfect. Fun shade. That’s how you flip it and have fun with it.” However, she did feel that the gag gift was poorly executed, and offered her suggestions for how Drew could have pulled it off more successfully. “Where I felt she went wrong was, if she wanted to do that, in that moment, okay fine. To each his own. But now you present the real nice gift as well, so that someone can leave with something that they actually want. Drew, I wish you had called me, girl. I wish you had called me on this one. I would have given you solid advice.”
Even Andy Cohen had something to say about the wig gift on the April 18 episode of Watch What Happens Live. In the video below, see what happened when Andy gave Porsha Williams the opportunity to “read” Drew over her gift.
After delivering a “friendly read” about Drew’s gift giving, Porsha also revealed that she ended up with the wig after the party. “I was supposed to be getting it done up for the reunion, but instead, I don’t know what happened to it,” she said. “I think Prophet Lott took the wig.”
“I was going to say we want the wig for the Clubhouse, but we don’t,” added Andy.
So now that Drew has heard everyone’s take on the situation, does she regret showing up to the party with a gag gift instead of a regular present?
“I like that I did it because I put it on the table. I wanted to talk about it. Put it on the table!” said Drew. “But I could have also brought something else. And so I do own that.”
