'Eight Is Enough' Actor Dick Van Patten Dies at 86
#RHOBH star Eileen Davidson's father-in-law passed away on Tuesday.
Dick Van Patten – father of Vince Van Patten and father-in-law of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Eileen Davidson – has passed away according to People.
The Eight Is Enough actor died from complications from diabetes at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 86.
In addition to his role on the '70s sitcom, the legendary Hollywood actor starred in a number of other TV shows including The New Dick Van Dyke Show, Happy Days and The Love Boat as well as newer hit series, Arrested Development, That '70s Show and Hot in Cleveland. He also appeared in the films Spaceballs and Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
Eileen and husband Vince have yet to comment on the sad news as of press time, but celebrities are heading to social media to remember the late star.
Andy Cohen paid homage to his role as the memorable patriarch on Eight Is Enough.
Real Housewives of New York's Dorinda Medley also tweeted her condolences.
Actors from the comedy world, including Ruth Buzzi and Fred Willard, also expressed their sadness over the loss on Twitter.
