Emily Simpson's Family Room Looks Stunning After a Renovation: See Before & After Photos
The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member gave a room of her house a jaw-dropping transformation.
In August 2022, Emily Simpson revealed she was renovating her house, writing in an Instagram Story, “Someday it will be amazing.”
In addition to sharing a peek at her beautifully updated kitchen in February (more on that later), The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member recently showed off her renovated family room area, which she transformed into a lighter, brighter space with new furnishings.
On May 5, Emily hopped on her Instagram Stories to share a peek into her family room, sharing a snap of her husband, Shane Simpson, and one of their sons conversing in the space. Immediately, we were struck by the differences we noticed compared to her old family room, which you can revisit in the video tour above.

Compared to the photo below of her old family room, we observed white woodwork for the TV/media console area whereas the RHOC mom outfitted the space with deeper brown colors before. Emily also added a cozy white armchair in the corner by where new window treatments decorated the tops of the windows.
Emily also seemed to turn more toward an elevated beachy aesthetic with the new design, swapping her old sectional for a light beige couch and adding a wood side table, long coffee table, and large table behind the couch, peppering the space with florals, trays, and framed photos.
Emily Simpson's renovated kitchen details
In addition to her family room, Emily also updated her kitchen. In February, she shared a few photos of the process, detailing her in-progress white marble kitchen island.
"Making progress! New slabs are in!" she wrote over the Story.
As you can see in the video above, the island was previously brown, and it looks like the California mom also replaced her old kitchen cabinets.
Though Emily seemed excited about her kitchen updates, she joked about not necessarily using it often. "This is where I don't cook. This is the oven and the stove that I don't use," she hilariously stated.
"I do cook occasionally," she clarified. "Not much, though. It's hard when you work a lot."
