Erika Jayne Proves There's No Chart She Can't Conquer
Thanks to her memoir, Pretty Mess, the RHOBH pal has added best-selling author to her resume.
She's conquered the music charts and now Erika Jayne is also a best-selling author. Her memoir, Pretty Mess, which hit retailers last week, has landed a spot on The New York Times bestsellers list. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills singer/author shared the exciting news on Twitter.
"My pretties, we did it!!! #PrettyMess made it to the NY Times Best Seller! I couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you," she wrote about the accomplishment. It's an achievement that those in the Bravo family are familiar with, with everyone from Andy Cohen, to Bethenny Frankel, to Teresa Giudice, to Fredrik Eklund having previously landed on the list with their own books.
Erika's Pretty Mess is a very revealing look at the woman behind the designer duds and big blonde hair. It gives fans an insight into her youth, her friendships, and her marriage to Tom Girardi.
The Daily Dish caught up with her at a book signing in NYC the week it hit stores — and she dished more about putting pen to paper. "Well, I think, if anything, the book is just my life. It's a story, much like anyone else's story, told behind the being [of] an artist. And if you go to class, if you're inspired to go back to school, if you're inspired to hit the gym — that's what it's all about. It's an easy, fun read meant to make you laugh and smile."
And while there are humorous aspects of the book, Erika never shies away from getting real about the painful moments of her life as well. "I wasn't nervous or scared about sharing anything. Obviously, I thought it out and I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out," she said. "I think it's definitely a more intimate view of my life." -Additional reporting by Laura Rosenfeld
