Eva Marcille Doesn't Think She's Been Shady About Cynthia Bailey's Modeling: "I Think It Was the Truth"

"By the time I'm 51, I wish I can say I'm still a model," The Real Housewives of Atlanta newbie said.

Eva Marcille Defends Calling Cynthia Bailey a Vet

We all know The Real Housewives of Atlanta ladies love to show their shady side. But is it just us, or does it feel like new Georgia Peach Eva Marcille has especially been (playfully) coming for Cynthia Bailey this season?

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Peacock and the Bravo App.

So far, Eva has called Cynthia "mother," said she has "the veteran walk," and noted the difference between their modeling styles "is about 20 years." Please excuse us while we pick our jaws up off the floor.

But Eva actually doesn't think she's been shady toward Cynthia this season, even after Andy Cohen pointed out that she's "not not shady" during Sunday night's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. "I don't think that I'm shady towards Cynthia. I think it was the truth," Eva explained on WWHL (clip above). "I mean, if I was called a vet, I would think that someone is paying homage to me. Like, I've never heard someone call someone a vet and that was a negative thing."

If you think Eva has found herself back in a modeling competition with Cynthia this season of RHOA, think again. "You know what, I guess it would be really nice for Cynthia and I to have this big ol' model battle. But for what? Cynthia is drop-dead gorgeous, let's just be honest. She's beautiful, she's been a successful model for years, and she's 51. She can't help the year she was born. I can't help the year I was born. I happen to be a model, too. I'm 33. The difference between her and I are what? 20 years," Eva shared with The Daily Dish during an interview in November. "Besides from that, we're both accomplished, we both hit the covers of magazines, we both do well for ourselves. I mean, I guess it's nice to think there's tension, but the show is shady! You get a little catty sometimes, but there is no beef between me and Cynthia. I love her."

Eva added that she thinks "a lot of things can be read more shady than they are," and explained she looks up to Cynthia and her career in fashion. "By the time I'm 51, I wish I can say I'm still a model. Like no one at 51 is still a model. Adriana Lima just retired from the runway two days ago, Victoria's Secret. She's like, 'Yeah, I'm over it,'" Eva explained. "But Cynthia is still rocking the runway, Cynthia's still taking pictures, so there's no shade there."

We're not sure Cynthia sees it the exact same way. She expressed some confusion over Eva's seemingly shady comments and the rumors she heard about her ex-boyfriend Will Jones in her latest blog on Bravotv.com. "I really like Eva. I'm not really sure where the 'model shade' is coming from or why Will’s name is even still coming up among the ladies. We have both moved on," Cynthia wrote. "I am happily in love with Mike Hill, and he is my only focus."

The ATL drama continues in an all-new episode of RHOA Sunday at 8/7c. Check out a sneak peek, below.
