We're flashing back to that time the #RHONY star ruled over the annual Coney Island event.

As Coney Island prepares to celebrate its Annual Mermaid Parade this Saturday, we're looking back to that time when our favorite Real Housewives of New York journalist/author was crowned Mermaid Queen.

How to Watch

Back in 2013, Carole reigned as the sovereign of the famed, free-spirited parade which officially heralds in summer for many New Yorkers. As the largest art parade in the nation, the annual event deems itself a celebration of ancient mythology and honky-tonk rituals of the seaside.

"I've lived in New York long enough, I've been to every parade, and the Mermaid Parade is one-of-a-kind," Carole said at the time. "There is a great eclectic mix of sweet little kids, and camp, and drag queens with a really strong message about family."

As the parade's sovereign, Carole dressed up in a bright red wig and a fittingly royal gold sequined bikini top and tail. She was joined at the event by fellow RHONY stars LuAnn de Lesseps, Kristen Taekman, and Sonja Morgan.

"Mermaids are Robert Redford, Janis Joplin, a cold gin martini and good salty caviar combined," Carole said about her fantasy character of choice. "Plus we can swim."
