Five Emmy Noms For Bravo!

2011 brings a nod for Kathy Griffin and four for Top Chef

Corks are popping in Bravo-land in celebration of Emmy nods announced yesterday for Kathy Griffin and Top Chef

For the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards (airing September 18 on Fox), two-time Emmy winner Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List received its sixth consecutive nomination as Outstanding Reality Program.

Meanwhile, Top Chef, which won Outstanding Reality Competition Program last year, has extended Bravo's record as the only network with nominations in that category for seven consecutive years.  Top Chef got a total of four nods, including:

Outstanding Reality Competition Program
Outstanding Cinematography For Reality Programming
Outstanding Directing For Non-fiction Programming
Outstanding Picture Editing For Reality Programming

While we celebrate, we can still understand the disappointment of our friends at Yahoo TV who chided the Academy for overlooking some fan favorites, like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: “In its first season, 'Beverly Hills' shot to the head of the Housewives class with ridiculous displays of wealth, juicy catfights, and the most uncomfortable dinner party in reality TV history. And can you imagine Camille Grammer’s acceptance speech?”

Of course we can.  2012 perhaps?
