Fredrik Eklund: Ryan's Rant Went Too Far
Million Dollar Listing New York stars open up about finale drama.
Million Dollar Listing New York's Fredrik Eklund and Ryan Serhant have always been competitive colleagues in the cutthroat world of high-stakes Manhattan real estate, but this season, a professional disagreement led to a very personal takedown when Serhant tried to take revenge on his recently married costar.
On last night's Watch What Happens Live the two sat down (with Luis Ortiz in the hot seat between them) to discuss the show's explosive finale, and Eklund admitted Ryan's rant (featuring the direct insult, "I am the American Dream, and you are just a cheap, shiny import") hurt him deeply.
"I got invited to the open house and I had a really bad feeling, but I went," Eklund says. "It was very hurtful. In front of all the people I do deals with, the brokers, and my husband standing next to me. I was breaking inside. It was tough."
Even Serhant admitted the scene was "really tough to watch."
"Obviously I feel bad," he adds, saying he acted out of anger. "But what's done is done."
In the bonus clip below, Ortiz adds his take on the showdown, telling Serhant directly, "I don't respect what you did."
