Gail Simmons Celebrated Her Birthday in the Most Special Way
The Top Chef judge commemorated a huge milestone while also feting her 46th birthday.
Gail Simmons has plenty of reasons to celebrate this week. On May 19, the Bravo’s Top Chef host not only had her 46th birthday but was also sworn in as a U.S. citizen, as she revealed in a heartfelt post on Instagram.
Gail took to Instagram to commemorate the special moment. In a series of photos posted on May 20, Gail can be seen in a selfie in front of a federal building in New York City, as well as enjoying some tasty snacks on her TV show, The Good Dish.
“Yesterday was BIG,” Gail captioned the post. “Sure, I turned a year older (who’s counting at this point?) but perhaps more importantly, after 23 years — almost to the day — as a New Yorker, I was sworn in as a US Citizen. Next stop, registering to #vote!”
Gail couldn’t help but get emotional over the momentous occasion, writing, “Ready to finally participate fully. Also there was profiteroles and Champagne and lots of handmade cards from the kids, and cuddles and flowers and good friends, and maybe I shed a tear or two.”
She went on to conclude, “Shout out to my [The Good Dish] fam for giving me the TV bday of my dreams, and thank you thank you for the sweet, thoughtful wishes and messages from all. I’m one overwhelmed and incredibly lucky American girl.”
Earlier this month, Gail captured another heartwarming moment on Instagram featuring her son, Kole. In the sweet snapshot, the mother-son duo can be seen rocking sunglasses and sharing a hug while enjoying a sunny day outdoors.
“Annual sweet face smashing under the cherry blossom tree with my joy-dropping little man,” she captioned the photo.
