Get to Know Garcelle Beauvais' Son Oliver Saunders Sr. (and Her Grandson)
The RHOBH cast member is mom to Oliver Sr., who appears on Vanderpump Rules, and grandmother of one.
When Garcelle Beauvais talks about her “happy place,” it’s wherever her boys are. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member is the proud mother of three sons — and her eldest, Oliver Saunders Sr., also has an adorable son, Oliver Saunders Jr.
Despite her long list of accomplishments—including a career as an actress and the publication of her memoir, Love Me as I Am, in 2022—Garcelle’s favorite title is Mom.
Over the years, we’ve gotten to know Garcelle’s boys through glimpses on RHOBH as well as through sweet photos on Garcelle’s social media. Here’s what to know about the eldest of her "boys."
Oliver Saunders Sr.
Garcelle welcomed her first child, Oliver, into the world on Feb. 22, 1991. (He is now 32.)
“I had my first son, Oliver, when I was very young,” Garcelle wrote in a 2020 blog for PEOPLE. “I was modeling in New York when I met his dad. We immediately fell in love and got married after only two months. Crazy, right?! Two years later, Oliver appeared on the scene. He was the best baby, so easy and happy. I took him everywhere with me — on photo shoots, on location, and he did so well on airplanes, too.”
In February 2020, Garcelle announced that Oliver had welcomed a son of his own, Oliver Jr.
A few months later, the mom shared that Oliver had married his wife, Sam, in a drive-thru ceremony in May 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. (The two have since separated, according to Entertainment Tonight, and Oliver filed for divorce in September 2022, according to the U.S. Sun.)
On Oliver Sr.’s first Father’s Day, Garcelle took to social media to reflect on what it was like seeing her child become a parent. "Ollie, seeing you with your son makes my heart so full," Garcelle gushed in a June 21, 2020, post.
On his Twitter, Oliver describes himself as a rapper, songwriter, and a podcast host. On his Instagram, he also sweetly refers to himself as “Oliver JR’s Daddy.” Most recently, he added SURver to his resume when he joined the staff of Lisa Vanderpump’s Las Vegas eatery, Vanderpump à Paris, after previously working at Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace. He continues to work at the venue, according to his social media accounts — and appeared on an episode of Vanderpump Rules in Season 10.
Following Oliver’s Vanderpump Rules debut in March 2023, Lisa stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and shared an update on Garcelle’s eldest son. The restaurateur admitted that she was “reticent” at first to give Oliver a job when Garcelle asked, but she is ultimately glad she did.
“He has been a blessing. It’s a win-win,” Lisa added about how Oliver is at the restaurant. “He’s a good guy. I love Oliver.”
Garcelle, on the other hand, was not as sold about her son’s appearance on Season 10 of the show. “Listen, my son’s a grown man and he makes decisions, and I’m not always OK with all the decisions that he makes,” she told E! News in March.
Garcelle, Oliver, and Oliver Jr. spent time together other the summer and then again in September, with plenty of adorable Instagram pics.
Grandson Oliver Saunders Jr., 3
Just as she’s a proud mama, Garcelle is an equally doting grandmother to her grandson, Oliver Saunders Jr. The tot was born in February 2020, a momentous occasion that Garcelle marked with a touching Instagram post.
She's been a doting grandmother ever since, and is often seen on her son's Instagram, playing another of her favorite roles: Grandma.
During a September 2023 visit to Los Angeles, little Oliver helped his uncle, Garcelle's son Jaid Nilon, invite the young man's girlfriend to their school's homecoming dance. The outreach was ultimately successful: Garcelle documented the adorable couple's outfits on Instagram in October 2023.
