Garcelle Beauvais Weighs In on Son Oliver’s Involvement in the Vanderpump Rules Drama
The RHOBH cast member also revealed if she watched her son’s make-out with Raquel Leviss.
Garcelle Beauvais has certainly proved that she can hold her own on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but when it comes to her son, Oliver Saunders, the actress admitted that he might not have inherited her reality-TV chops.
She was, of course, referring to Oliver’s recent cameo on Vanderpump Rules Season 10. Fans may recall that the 32-year-old, who’s a server at Lisa Vanderpump’s Las Vegas eatery, Vanderpump à Paris, made an appearance when Lisa, Lala Kent, Ariana Madix, Raquel Leviss, Kristina Kelly, and Katie Maloney (and her mom) took a girls’ trip to Sin City. There, he piqued the interest of both Lala and Raquel, and he wound up making out with the latter during the group’s night out.
Reflecting on what went down in the episode and how it ended up playing a role in some of the drama currently rocking the Vanderpump Rules universe, Garcelle joked to ET, “Oh my god. My damn kids.”
“When it became bigger than what Oliver did, I was like, ‘Whew. Thank god. It’s not about just him,’” she added during the March 29 interview. “I mean, listen, Oliver’s a grown-ass man. Do I agree with everything he does? Absolutely not. But I love him, and what are you gonna do?”
Garcelle watched the episode “through her fingers.” Why? As she put it, “You don’t want to see your kid make out. And it felt like it was the entire episode. Felt like it slowed down to a crawl. I couldn’t take it.”
Oliver apparently shared a similar sentiment when he called his mom following the aftermath of his make-out with Raquel. “He was like, ‘I don’t think reality’s for me,’” Garcelle shared. “And I go, ‘Good. It’s not.’”
Lisa, for her part, is a fan of Garcelle’s son both on and off camera. “Who wouldn’t go after Oliver?” the Vanderpump Rules matriarch recently said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen when discussing how Lala and Raquel were both interested in him. “He’s a chip off the old block, Garcelle’s son.”
On WWHL, Lisa also admitted that she was “reticent” at first to give Oliver a job when Garcelle asked, but she’s ultimately glad she did. “He has been a blessing. It’s a win-win,” Lisa added. “He’s a good guy. I love Oliver.”
