Gigi Hadid is dishing tips and tricks on how to easily look your best—and considering she was just named one of People's 2015 Most Beautiful People, get ready to take notes.
The most important advice she's gotten is from her stunning mom, Real Housewives of Beverly Hill's Yolanda Foster. She's always told Gigi to keep it natural.
"I've gotten a lot of beauty advice from my mom, but probably the best thing was that she never wore too much makeup and always did really simple looks," Gigi tells People. "I grew up thinking that was beautiful. So when I started experimenting with makeup that's what I went for."
It's especially essential if you're inexperienced in the cosmetic department. "If you're not a makeup artist and you just try to go for the big looks, it just get the best of you," she reveals.
Another tip? Get your beauty sleep—any way you can. "I've learned very quickly to fall asleep wherever I can," she admits. "I sleep in the car from event to event or show to show sometimes."
And one of the most beautiful traits a woman can have is confidence and independence—which she's acquired by doing things on her own. "A really important part of my career was learning from my own experiences," she says.
It's something she's passing on to little sister Bella, also making her way through the modeling world. "If she's scared or is like 'Gigi, can you come to this with me?' sometimes I'll make her go by herself," she says. "It just forces you to make friends…and learn how to communicate with people. When you buckle down and go alone, you make so many more friends because you don't have your security blanket with you."
