Gizelle Bryant Reveals Why She Has the Power to Take the “Grande Dame” Title Away
Karen Huger may not be too happy about it, but Gizelle explained her power over the all-important Grande Dame of Potomac title at BravoCon 2023.
Who came up with the nickname "Green-Eyed Bandits" for Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon of The Real Housewives of Potomac? An innocent question turned into a hilarious controversy during the "Bravo BFFs" live interview at BravoCon 2023, and it led to Gizelle declaring she has the power to take away Karen Huger's infamous "Grande Dame" title. Read on to find out why.
What does Gizelle Bryant think of the "Grande Dame" title?
Gizelle immediately refuted moderator Kate Chastain's suggestion that Karen gave the ladies the nickname "Green-Eyed Bandits," declaring, "She did not! Karen has never come up with a name."
What's more, Gizelle insisted she came up with it herself — and an audience member chimed in to confirm the theory.
"For the record…I typically come up with the names," Gizelle added. "I came up with 'Grande Dame,' so if I take 'Grand Dame' away, I can do that. I came up with the 'Green-Eyed Bandits.' [Robyn] came up with 'Reasonably Shady' [for their podcast] though, that was her."
For their part, Southern Charm's Craig Conover and Austen Kroll, who were in the BFF live interview with the "Green-Eyed Bandits," don't seem to have a nickname.
Kate set out to change that, suggesting they take up "The Brown-Eyed Bros."
"'Brown-Eyed Bros' is kind of cool," Craig said. "That's great alliteration. I like it."
Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon's Friendship
They may be BFFs, but Gizelle and Robyn both agreed there's things they would change about the other, especially on social media.
"I would...make Robyn post," Gizelle said. "Because she never posts. We’re doing fun things, we’re out and about, we’re always talking about [our] Reasonably Shady [podcast], so Robyn could post about the podcast that we’re on, but she doesn’t."
Robyn jokingly fired back that she's not a fan of Gizelle's social media posts that involve dancing. "I would tell Gizelle to post fewer of those dancing videos where she does the same dance — we need fewer of those," Robyn said. "I don’t need to see that anymore."
Robyn also clarified that she often doesn't have her phone with her — something Gizelle apparently can't relate to. "I don’t like living with my phone just attached to me," Robyn said at the live interview at BravoCon 2023. "Like, she brought her phone with her, and my phone is upstairs."
But Gizelle said she has a reason for having her phone on her. "I need to let you guys know on the back of my phone is a mirror," Gizelle explained. "So, I always need to make sure the lipstick is right, the makeup is right, all the good things. Girls understand right?"
