Gizelle Bryant on Dating Ex-Husband Jamal Bryant: “He’s Never Gone Away Because of Our Kids”

Gizelle Bryant shocked everyone when she revealed that she and her ex-husband, Jamal Bryant, had gotten back together during Part 1 of The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 4 reunion.

The two got divorced 12 years ago, so they haven't been a couple for most of their daughters' lives. Gizelle shared that their kids, Grace, Angel, and Adore, were "a little confused" by their parents rekindling their romance. "So when he comes into town and he wants to take me to dinner, they're like, 'Wait a minute, aren't we all going?' Because that's what we normally do," she said.

She elaborated on the change in family dynamics during an interview on The Daily Dish podcast. "It's kind of weird because he's never not been in my life," she said. "Even when we were divorced — I mean, we still are divorced — but he's never gone away because of our kids. But I'm happy with where we are right now; I'm happy that we're moving in a direction just to kind of bring the whole family back together. I have so much admiration and respect for who he is and I think it's mutual."

Gizelle did note that her kids are a little hesitant because they know the two divorced over infidelity "and they just want to make sure that daddy doesn't do anything wrong again." However, Gizelle noted that over a decade has passed, "so if I'm still holding on to something from when we got divorced, there's something wrong with me. I have seen him mature in a way that I don't think about the past anymore."
