Judges, chefs, and sous chefs celebrate Season 5 in New York City.
This Tuesday, some of the greatest chefs in the country (and Canada!) were out, celebrating the new season of Top Chef Masters with a party hosted by Chase Sapphire Preferred. After a steamy red carpet, critics, Masters, their sous chefs, and guests converged at 82Mercer in New York City to -- what else -- eat, and get their first look at the new season.
Food stations with dishes created by the Masters and their sous chefs lined the perimeter of the space, while the cast greeted their guests giddily. And while guests noshed on everything from halibut to pork, they watched the first 10 minutes of the premiere. A giant $25K check -- literally -- was presented to City Harvest on behalf of Chase Sapphire Preferred.
The Dish was there for the free food to get the scoop on the new season, observe, and eavesdrop, naturally.
Here are some important things we learned:
1. Gail Simmons is pregnant with her first baby!
2. Curtis correctly holds his white wine glass at the bottom to keep it cold, like a real man!
3. Oh, and a little birdie—ahem, James Oseland ahem—told us Curtis has a potty mouth.
4. James has a potty mouth too. We've already started pushing him to write an adult novel...under a pseudonym, of course. Robert Galbraith, maybe?
5. Curtis still hasn't gotten over his time spent with Zoila at the Summer by Bravo shoot.
