Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi Revealed Her Baby’s Gender AND Name at Her Baby Shower

The Shahs of Sunset baby shower lived up to the mom-to-be's "lit" expectations.

By Laura Rosenfeld

Not only did Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi bring the party at her baby shower on Sunday, March 1, but she also had not one but TWO big reveals at the celebration.

GG confirmed that she is having a boy at the baby shower, which she also announced in her Instagram Story. "As you guys can see, true blue," GG said while holding up her nails and showing off her braids and outfit, all decked out in blue. "I'm having a boy."

She also shared that her baby’s name will be Elijah. That name was displayed in big gold letters on the wall.

“I’m so excited that everyone now knows and I don’t have to keep it a secret anymore,” GG told PEOPLE. “I’ve always wanted to be a mom, and am thrilled I’ll be raising a little man. I’m just so happy to be here celebrating with all these people who have supported me on this journey.”

The fête, which took place at GG's home in Los Angeles, was a Shahs-studded affair as the mom-to-be was joined by several of her Shahs of Sunset castmates in celebrating her first child, including Reza Farahan, who had already known the sex of GG's baby, Reza's husband, Adam Neely, Mike Shouhed and his girlfriend Paulina Ben-Cohen, Destiney Rose, and alum Lilly Ghalichi, as well as other close friends and family.

GG told PEOPLE that the baby shower was a way to show everyone how much pride she has in being able to start a family on her own. “I’m just so proud to show this off,” GG shared. “You know, in the Persian community, it’s kind of unheard of to have a baby by yourself. So this is an important celebration for me, because it’s a chance for me to show everyone that I’m not afraid of that taboo. I’m flaunting it, in fact.”

Instead of gifts, guests were asked to bring baby supplies that will be donated to Baby2Baby, a nonprofit organization that provides diapers, clothing, and other essentials to children in need. “Everyone’s like, ‘The whole point of having a baby shower is to get the free gifts.’ But I told everybody, ‘I do not want gifts,’" GG told PEOPLE. “I just feel like, I’m not someone who likes to splurge; I can afford the necessities, and don’t want to spoil my son with fancy, fancy things. So why not use this opportunity to help others for people lacking in life?”

GG added, “Baby2Baby is such a great organization, and I’m so glad we can all help those in need.”

GG, who is seven months pregnant, opened up a little bit about her plans for the big event during an interview with The Daily Dish in New York City on Monday, February 24. "My baby shower is this coming weekend, actually, so I'm really nervous because I have so much going on," she shared. "And it's not like a typical baby shower with baby games or any goo-goo-ga-ga-type stuff. It's just an adult, coed, lit day party."

"It's gonna be lit lit," GG continued. "Like, lit!"

GG's due date was May 16, but she shared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last week that she will be induced into labor early in order to go back on her medication for rheumatoid arthritis. "The biggest struggle I've had in general has just been having rheumatoid arthritis and dealing with a pregnancy at the same time," GG shared on WWHL.

Though she may not have everything she needs to bring home baby just yet, it sounds like GG is more than ready to welcome her first child. "I'm getting really excited about having a baby. The closer it's getting to it, the more real it's becoming. I'm a little nervous because I haven't found even a place to move into yet. I don't have anything purchased for the baby's nursery, like the essentials. I don't have anything, so I'm a little nervous. But these days, everything's online shopping, so I'm not that worried," she told The Daily Dish. "I'm excited."
