Heather Gay Still "Can't Believe" This Originally Unaired Moment from the RHOSLC Ice Fishing Trip
The RHOSLC cast member's mind was blown, thanks to one revelation during the excursion.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City ice fishing trip came to a dramatic end in the September 26 episode. However, there was another previously unaired instance, moments before, that really made Heather Gay's jaw drop.
In a special "Never Before Scene" edition of the episode, which aired on September 29, Heather and Jennie Nguyen decide to pour some hot cocoa from a thermos that had been sitting on the ice the whole day. "I can't believe it's still, like, hot," Heather said while pouring the drink, to which Jennie pointed out, "Well, it's in a thermos."
Heather admitted, "I've never understood the thermodynamics of a thermos."
When Heather took a sip from her mug, she couldn't believe the temperature of the hot cocoa. "It's burning hot, and it's been on ice!" she exclaimed. "I need to, like, patent whatever. This is, like, NASA-type technology."
Heather still doesn't know how that thermos was able to keep the hot cocoa so toasty when she reflected on the moment in a post on Instagram on September 30. "Can someone explain to me how a thermos can defy the laws of nature?" Heather wrote. "We had been sitting on the ice for hours and it was still piping hot."
She added that her mind was blown on the level of that time she learned a new word last season of RHOSLC. "This had me like stanchions," Heather said on Instagram.
This wasn't the only new footage of the ice fishing trip featured in the "Never Before Scene" episode. We also got to see more of Heather and Whitney Rose's arrival to the outing, where they quoted Lisa Barlow from the RHOSLC Season 1 reunion. As Whitney and Heather introduced themselves to the ice fishing instructors, they paraphrased Lisa's iconic line, "Whitney and Heather, 'Bad Weather,' tornado, spin the truth, destroy," complete with a little twirl on the ice. "Dude, I think we're gonna have to get in on that, some sort of secret handshake," one of the instructors reacted to their greeting.
Heather also seemed to reference the duo's "Bad Weather" nickname while wishing Whitney a happy birthday on Instagram on September 25. "Rain or Shine I can always count on [Whitney]," Heather wrote in the post, which also featured photos of the pair from their day out ice fishing. "Happy Birthday Cuz!"
