How Does Cynthia Bailey Feel About Turning 50?
The #RHOA model is using her upcoming milestone to make some big changes.
Cynthia Bailey may have just looked back on the day she tied the knot with Peter Thomas in honor of their sixth wedding anniversary on July 24, but The Real Housewives of Atlanta model is full steam ahead when it comes to the future, especially because she'll turn the big 5-0 on February 19, 2017. "I'm turning 50 next year, and it's a huge milestone for me," Cynthia told PEOPLE at Jill Zarin's fourth annual Luxury Luncheon in Southampton, New York last Saturday. "It's really important for me to wake up on my 50th birthday and just love my life – every part of my life. And that's real."
Part of this transition has included announcing her separation from Peter earlier this year. "It's scary, but there is something very powerful about starting my life over by myself at this age," Cynthia said in her interview with PEOPLE. "Some women feel like it's too late to start over and I don't think it's ever too late to be at peace."
Cynthia is also using this time to reconnect with her 16-year-old daughter Noelle Robinson. "At this point in my life it's just me and her again," she said. "It's just back to us."
That's been helpful as Cynthia goes through this difficult time with Peter. "She has been hugely supportive and just a sweetheart with the personal issues I'm dealing with with my marriage," Cynthia said. "I think children just sense when you need a hug and she has been a great hugger and a great supporter, and that goes a long way."
Cynthia is also always supportive of Noelle's future plans. Find out what she previously told The Daily Dish about her daughter's modeling ambitions, below.
