How 'The Kandi Factory' Differs from Other Music Shows

Kandi Burruss explains how the new series sets itself apart.

The Kandi Factory premieres tonight, and, according to Kandi Burruss, it’s a weekly music competition unlike any other on television.

“We don’t do it like the other music shows where they take the same people all the way through,” Kandi explained to TV Guide Magazine. “Our show features two new people every week.”

Kandi, who wrote "No Scrubs" for TLC and hit songs for Destiny’s Child, Usher, and Whitney Houston writes a song for each contestant. They record it, are given choreography, a full makeover, and at the end of the week belt out the song to a live audience. The winner gets to make their own music video and hae their single released.

And because it’s Bravo (and we know you love it) Kandi promises that there will be plenty of drama.

“We had a big blow-out in the studio one day that was unexpected,” she says. “One of the contestants and the choreographer almost went to blows with each other.”

Kandi describes the show as, “intense,” and the drama as “crazy.” Sounds like heaven to us!
