The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Kandi Burruss hasn't had the easiest engagement to fiance Todd Tucker: she's weathered constant attacks from her mother, Joyce, who believes Todd has ulterior motives in getting married to Kandi.
But the bride-to-be is continuing to stand by her man and shut down the haters.
"We are moving forward," Kandi, who is the cover girl for this month's Jet Magazine, tells the publication. "I have a date, but I'm not saying." So she's not dishing on the date.
However, she is revealing that she's taking the ultimate precaution before walking down the aisle. "We are doing a pre-nup," she says. "It's like insurance. You don't want to need it but but it's there in case a disaster happens."
But with a wedding being inevitable, even Mama Joyce is softening. "I pray I am wrong," Kandi's mom told JET. "If they are married and it lasts, I will be the first to apologize."
Despite the naysayers, Kandi is enjoying both her professional and personal success, both enhanced by her fiance. "I love that Todd is affectionate and relationship-oriented," she explained. "But he's also a leader and a planner, and because of his production background he makes me a better businesswoman."
