Is Monique Samuels Still Friends with Sherman Douglas' Ex-Wife Kyndall?
The Real Housewives of Potomac mom's friends caused a controversy last season.
As Gizelle Bryant and Monique Samuels continue to clash this season of The Real Housewives of Potomac, we were recently reminded of something — or should we say someone — their beef revolved around last season.
Monique recently shared a collection of photos of her night out on the town with her husband, Chris Samuels, as well as a group of friends, including Kyndall Douglas. That name should definitely sound familiar to RHOP fans. Kyndall is the ex-wife of Sherman Douglas, Gizelle's ex-boyfriend. Gizelle, unsurprisingly, wasn't such a fan of this friendship last season of RHOP, seeing it as a purposeful jab at her.
Not only do these photos show that Monique and Kyndall's friendship is alive and well today, but also earlier this season, Monique confirmed that she and Kyndall are as tight as ever during an interview with The Daily Dish. "Yeah, we still hang out," Monique said. "I really like Kyndall. She's really good people. We have fun together. She came over when I was pregnant. She came and saw the baby. So we stay in touch."
Monique added that Gizelle's criticism of her relationship with Kyndall was unfounded. "The crazy thing is that I met Kyndall, and we established a friendship before I even knew about Gizelle and Sherman," she explained. "So for her to insinuate that I'm only befriending [Kyndall] to get under [Gizelle's] skin, first of all, I don't have to befriend somebody to get under her skin. We already know that exists without that help."
At the time of this interview, Monique said that she had not yet apologized to Sherman for putting his personal life on blast last season of RHOP — and she might actually not need to. "My husband, he used to work out at the same gym that Sherman worked out. So he actually ran into Sherman, and he said, 'Listen, my wife wants to apologize to you,'" Monique recalled. "And guess what his response was? He said, 'For what?' And Chris is like, 'Well, she kind of put your business out on TV.' He said, 'I'm not really worried about that. That was in the past. I'm not really worried.'"
Monique said that she wasn't expecting that at all. "It was crazy, because he was totally receptive and open to my apology. They talked for a bit, back-and-forth. My husband said, 'I know you said don't worry about it, but when she sees you next time, she already says that when she sees you, she wants to apologize, and she will,'" Monique said. "Haven't seen him since, but Sherman, if you're out there listening, sorry. I'm so sorry. But he was fine. Yeah, he was good."
