How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/9c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

Jackie Goldschneider  and Jennifer Aydin definitely did not see eye-to-eye about finances on their trip to the Hamptons on Wednesday (January 22)'s episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Jennifer was fascinated to learn that Jackie came from family money, and the revelation caused her to opine that Jackie was "cheap," which got back to Jackie, the host of the weekend.

While Jennifer was offended by what she perceived as a less-than-elaborate kids' birthday party that Jackie threw for her kids, Jackie was offended by Jennifer's implication that she wasn't providing a memorable experience for her children. When Jackie appeared on The Daily Dish podcast, she had more to say about Jennifer's remarks.

"I can tolerate a lot before I explode. But when you imply that I’m taking things away from my children for my own benefit and spending the money on myself instead, then A, you clearly don’t understand the type of money that I have. Because buying my kids food wouldn’t take anything away from me," Jackie explained. "But B, first of all, you didn’t see that there was a whole sandwich platter in my kitchen. But when a party is from 1 o' clock to 3 o' clock in your driveway and it’s a drop-off party, how much food do you really need to supply to adults? That’s just not the way that I throw parties. I don’t care about impressing anybody. I had sandwiches in the kitchen. I had a vegetable tray also. I had a lot of wine. But my main focus at a party is what the kids will like and what makes the kids happy. So, when she implied that I cheaped out on this party, it's like, I really try hard in and out of this scene. I really try hard to like Jennifer, and I just, I just can’t."

In fact, things are so bad between the two Garden State moms that they're currently not speaking. But they had even more to say about one another on The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 10 After Show.

"I think she was just so shocked because she was thinking she's this rich bitch and I'm just the poor friend," Jackie said. "Part of me was thinking, that is really rude, do you realize what you're doing? And the other part of me was like, hehehe, don't you want to know?... I did think it was inappropriate. And I was surprised that she would lay her cards on the table like that and show everyone how interested she was because she usually puts up a facade because she's worried what people think of her."

Jennifer, for her part, actually doubled down on her comments in the After Show. "I've seen a lot of different birthday parties given [across] all different social classes. And I've seen people who don't have a pot to piss in throw the nicest, cutest parties for their child, not because they're shoving their lack of money down my throat, but because it's their joy to give a nice party to their guests. I mean, what's the big deal? I'm not saying millions; I'm just saying a little bit more on the spectrum is a little more expectable for someone who's got millions in the bank."

She then admitted that part of her issue with the food at the party was that it was mostly carbs and she was on a no-carb diet.

As for how Jennifer spends her money, Jackie said, "I don't think she spends her money wisely. I think she buys a lot of crap. But I also think that she also spends a lot of money on big purchases too and I worry."

See how the rest of this Hamptons trip unfolds next Wednesday at 8/78c. More from the After Show, below.
