James Kennedy Surprises Ally Lewber with a Fun Backyard Addition
Did the Vanderpump Rules cast member take a cue from RHOBH's Kyle Richards?
James Kennedy’s latest home addition was nothing short of aces.
In between his busy tour schedule, the Vanderpump Rules DJ decided to upgrade his house with one of 2024’s trendiest amenities: an outdoor pickleball court. His longtime live-in girlfriend, Ally Lewber, showed off the space in a recent Instagram Story, saying James set up the temporary court while she was out and about.
“I got home to a mini pickle ball court James set up for us,” she wrote in the caption followed by a crying laughing emoji.
The photo — which included a cameo by their dog, Hippie — showed their brick patio with an Enhance pickleball net, removable neon green kitchen lines, and a wicker basket filled with pickleball equipment. You can check out the setup below.
James Kennedy showcases his pickleball swing
Fans got a look at James’ pickleball skills in Vanderpump Rules Season 9, Episode 3 when he and his castmates participated in a little tournament.
Since then, the sport has been featured on numerous Bravo shows, including The Real Housewives of New Jersey, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and The Real Housewives of Orange County. Even The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Kyle Richards has a pickleball court in her Encino backyard; however, she admits she doesn’t play it “enough.”
James Kennedy purchases his first home in the Valley
James purchased his Valley home in the spring of 2023, after years of renting in Los Angeles. He confirmed the big news during Part 2 of Vanderpump Rules: Pumped Up Edition when Andy Cohen asked about his and Ally’s living situation.
“I heard that the two of you just bought a house together?” the host said.
“I actually just bought a house… James Kennedy’s a homeowner,” the DJ clarified about his new Burbank property. “Ally Bally is bringing the cats. We’re all gonna live together!”
Ally Lewber gushes over her and James' backyard "oasis"
Shortly after moving into their new digs, James and Ally gave BravoTV.com a proper home tour, revealing everything from their living room and kitchen to the bathrooms and recording studio.
“We didn’t have to do much work to the house, we just had to do work to the backyard,” James said in the video.
The outdoor space included a spacious patio, brick walkways, a little garden, and a full-sized pool surrounded by flowers, loungers, and bistro sets for entertaining.
“The best part, honestly, of the whole house is that we can just open the back door right from our bedroom and step into the oasis,” Ally said about the backyard. “This is definitely Hippie’s favorite part of the house, as well. He loves laying out with me while I read my books.”
