James Kennedy Is (Unofficially) Back DJ'ing at SUR

When James Kennedy lost his "See You Next Tuesday" Tuesday night DJ'ing gig at SUR after making body-shaming comments toward Katie Maloney-Schwartz, he was devastated. Though Lisa Vanderpump fired him from SUR, he spent much of Vanderpump Rules Season 7 trying to get re-hired. But despite the fact he wasn't hired back by the end of the season, he revealed on the Vanderpump Rules After Show things have kind of changed in that regard.

"What else is more ridiculous is Tequila Tuesday just started three weeks ago which, I think, it is a huge success already. But what's crazy about it is I've been asked to promote this night but I'm still not working for them right now," he revealed. "But I'm asked to work for them: you know, like, come through, we're not putting your name on the flyer, you're not getting paid, but tell the whole town about it. You know? And I have to say yes."

"And then go behind the DJ booth and perform your songs," Scheana Shay interjected.

"I've literally been DJ'ing at SUR still but I feel like I can't even say that," James revealed. "They're all still telling me to come in and promote this night that I have nothing to do with; I've been expelled, but I'm still meant to be there working for them, getting it hype... Guillermo gives me the mic, he's like, 'Come on, get on the mic tonight,' and all this stuff and I love doing it, I love doing it, but I need my recognition as well from doing all this s--t, because otherwise, it's going to be this, it's going to be the reunion and then Lisa's coming up to me going, 'Well, I've heard you've been coming in to Tequila Tuesdays unannounced.' And it's not that; it's not me trying to beg for my f--king night back and showing up unannounced."

And lest you don't believe him: "I have the texts to prove it: come in tonight, create a ruckus, show these people why they're here. And I know how to do that really well, I think," he said.
