After Show: Kim Kardashian West’s Personal Life

Ever since James Kennedy started proudly proclaiming that he is the "white Kanye West," we've been dying to know what Yeezy himself thinks of the nickname. Well, the jury is still out on that, but someone very close to the rapper has finally spoken out about the moniker.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

With Kim Kardashian appearing as a guest on Sunday night's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, that meant that she was in the same room as the "white Kanye West" himself as he served as the DJ during the show's week in Los Angeles. Andy Cohen asked Kanye's wife how she feels about someone calling themselves the "white Kanye West," and Kim responded in a way that we never saw coming. "I think it's cool," she said.

Kim's seal of approval was met with gratitude from James. We bet the Vanderpump Rules DJ is feeling mighty #blessed right about now.

James previously explained to The Daily Dish how he came up with that nickname in the first place. "I've been a Kanye West fan since the day I first heard his music, I've understood his music and more so have appreciated his production as a music producer from the samples he uses to the bass sounds for melody," he explained to The Daily Dish via email last March. "Some people get angry at the fact that I said I'm the 'white Kanye West' however I stand my ground, and here's why. Kanye, as a person, never doubted himself. If you go to some of his earliest interviews, he is the same Kanye that we see today. Before he had anything, he was the same Kanye we see today. I think I'm like him in the sense that I explore sound. I want to create something nobody has ever heard or seen before and I have nothing stopping me, the only thing that could possibly stop me is myself."

But James also admitted that he doesn't take the name very seriously, either. "It's all a bit of a joke," he said. "I mean I don't literally think that, but come on you got to admit it's pretty funny."

And that's kind of how James' buddy, Lala Kent, feels about the nickname, which you can see in the clip, below.
