It's Official: Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward Are Having a Baby

Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward are getting ready to bring home baby! The Flipping Out couple is expecting their child via surrogate this fall, PEOPLE reported exclusively Friday.

What's more, Jeff revealed that their first child together will be a girl. “We are very excited, but I’m also a little terrified,” Jeff told PEOPLE. “I’m trying to decide if I’m more terrified or excited, but I think it’s normal.”

We've followed Jeff and Gage's struggle to grow their family for years on Flipping Out. The couple initially considered adoption, but after several unsuccessful attempts, they decided to have a baby through surrogacy. They even shared their first meeting with their surrogate at the end of last season (clip above). “This has been a three or four year process for us,” Jeff said. “There were so many obstacles along the way, but there’s a happy ending. I can’t tell you how grateful and appreciative we are.” 

Jeff shared that his and Gage's six embryos had successfully been conceived last December through a holiday card only the Flipping Out interior designer could post.

Of course, Jeff has already put some thought into the design of his baby girl's room. “We’re going to end up redoing this little girl’s room like a hundred times,” he said. “But right now, I want just a really soft, soothing, calm room, especially with all the drama and activity around here, I just want this room to be like a sanctuary for her.” 

We'll get to see even more of how Jeff and Gage get ready for their new arrival when Season 9 of Flipping Out returns this summer. But Jeff has already shared some of his, shall we say, interesting ideas for potential baby names.
