Jeff Lewis Says Gage Edward "Lost His S—t" After Daughter Monroe's Expulsion
The Flipping Out exes had a tense text conversation about their daughter, Monroe.
Jeff Lewis' ex Gage Edward — unsurprisingly — did not take the news that their daughter, Monroe, had been expelled from her preschool very well.
According to Jeff, Gage "lost his s--t" when he heard that Monroe, who turns 3 in October, was asked to leave her preschool at the end of last week. “I had to explain it to him via text,” Jeff said in the September 17 episode of his Radio Andy show, as reported by PEOPLE. “Gage was really, really upset and he did yell at me and he did say some things that he probably regrets now.”
Jeff added, “I said, ‘I think this is all for the best’ … and then he hung up on me.”
The Flipping Out designer alleged that he then texted Gage. “I wrote, ‘Gage this is happening for you, not to you,’ and he wrote, ‘F--k off,’ in caps,” Jeff claimed. “I said, ‘I never liked that school anyway.’ He said, ‘You are so delusional. You are trying to justify your actions.'”
Administrators expelled Monroe after they received complaints about what Jeff had said about the school on his radio show. Jeff said that he and Gage tried to convince the headmistress of the school to give them a second chance, but it was to no avail. “The conversation lasted 20 minutes. For the first 12 to 13 minutes I groveled and then when I realized there was no hope, it got a bit contentious,” Jeff said on his radio show. “You don’t get to make amends. There are no second chances, no warnings — nothing. It was immediately, ‘They’re expelled.’"
This latest tension between Jeff and Gage comes after they had been making strides in their post-breakup relationship after 10 years together in January. The former couple reached a temporary custody agreement for Monroe in August. They will appear in court before a private judge on October 3 to determine a permanent agreement. Both Jeff and Gage are seeking joint legal and physical custody.
