Jennifer Aydin Tests Positive for Coronavirus
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member is recovering after being sick for the past 10 days.
Jennifer Aydin shared that she has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member opened up about her recent diagnosis in a video on Instagram on Wednesday, April 8, sharing that she found out about her positive test results on Monday. "Hey, guys. So I know I've been MIA for a little while. I want to let you guys know that I actually wasn't feeling well," Jennifer said. "I've been sick for the past 10 days."
Jennifer explained that her symptoms started last week on Monday, March 30 when she "felt extreme fatigue" but did not have a fever. She said she asked her husband, Bill Aydin, who is a plastic surgeon, to bring home a test for her, "but he was reluctant at first because I didn't have the normal symptoms like a fever or a heavy cough." After two or three days, Jennifer said she "insisted" Bill bring home a test, which he performed on her at home. It later came back with positive results this week.
Fortunately, Jennifer said that she is "doing better now." "There were a few rough days where I was just extremely tired and sleeping a lot. I had this very dense headache. Extreme, extreme night sweats. I lost my sense of taste and smell. I had no breathing problems," she recalled. "I feel better today. I feel like it's going in the right direction."
Jennifer noted that during this time, she has been keeping herself away from Bill, as well as their five children. "I've been staying away from the kids, I've been quarantined in my room," she said. "Bill's really stepped up to the plate. He's staying far away from me, but he's helping out with the kids, which I'm grateful for."
In the post on Instagram, Jennifer also wrote that being away from her children "has been the hardest," but she is grateful that she has not had any breathing issues. "My days haven’t been so bad, aside from a lot of fatigue and sleeping," she wrote. "At night is when it’s the worst for me because of the mix of sweating and chills."
Jennifer said that she has been taking vitamins and drinking hot liquids to help in her recovery. "We’ll all get through this," she wrote, along with "#staypositive" and "#stayinside."
That's a similar sentiment to how Jennifer ended her video on Instagram. "I hope everybody is well and staying home because right now, that's what we have to do, just have to stay home to prevent the spread of this awful disease," she shared. "And remember, guys, we're all in this together. Stay safe. Be well."
